We are Pigs Will Fly Studios

We are an ambitious indie studio in Jönköping, developing a new game based on an exclusive IP. We are brave, creative, ambitious, and have fun!

The Role

As an Art Lead at Pigs Will Fly, you are at the forefront of guiding and inspiring our art team, fostering an environment where creativity flourishes and talents are nurtured. Your primary responsibility will be to lead the team in their day-to-day operations, ensuring it performs at its highest potential, consistently meeting goals while maintaining a focus on the artistic vision.

This role involves a close partnership with the Art Director. Together, you delve into the project's aesthetic & thematic core, working to fully capture the intended artistic vision.
The vision, once solidified, will then be translated into actionable features and tasks for the art team. You will be instrumental in this translation process, carefully aligning the scope and complexity of tasks with the team's capacity and individual skills.

Furthermore, you will work closely with our Producer, acting as a crucial link between artistic aspirations and production realities. This collaboration will ensure that our production plan is taking into account the art team's capacity and skill levels to establish realistic timelines and deliverables. Your insight will be vital in identifying potential bottlenecks and proposing solutions that maintain both artistic integrity and project momentum.

You will be an "operative lead", meaning you not only manage but also actively contribute to the development. Whether it's concept art, 3D models, or textures, your contribution will inspire and motivate the team.

Our team operates with an agile structure and mindset, where every member is an integral part of the creative process. You will be expected to effectively provide and receive feedback, fostering transparent dialogue and collaborative problem-solving to enhance our creative output.

Some of what you'll do

• Lead team meetings such as standups, sprint plannings and retrospectives

• Manage and support your team in task planning ensuring they remain aligned with both vision and project constraints

• Support Art Director in realizing the artistic vision

• Support project management in milestone & sprint planning

• Collaborate with other team leads to ensure goals, dependencies and risks are identified and acted upon

Required qualifications

• +3 years of experience as a lead artist (or equivalent) in the video game industry.

• Significant experience working with production pipelines in game art development, preferably 3d, animation and tech art.

• Experience working with Unreal 5.

• Strong artistic skills with excellent understanding of artistic style, themes and genres

• Excellent leadership abilities, demonstrating alignment with our leadership values

• Good strategic ability. You are able to prioritize correctly with regards to goals and identify upcoming needs & problems.

• Outstanding proficiency in English, in both written and verbal communication.

• As a person - you are proactive, flexible and organized, you enjoy collaborating with others.

Bonus qualifications

• Higher education Degree in Game Development or equivalent

• Experience working with third person action adventure games

• Other leadership experience

• Shipped titles relevant to our genre

• Knowledge of agile workflows

We prioritize personal attributes and will conduct interviews on an ongoing basis until the position is successfully filled.

Location: Jönköping, Sweden. (We have a policy of four days at the office, one day working from home.)
NOTE: You must have a visa/permit to work in Sweden 

Start: ASAP Spring 2026

Form of Employment: We offer you a permanent full-time position, starting with a probationary period.
