Your role

Are you a visionary leader who's passionate about shaping both people and technology? If so, this is an exciting opportunity to lead the newly formed Systems Engineering department and make a significant impact on the future of our company.

As Head of Systems Engineering, you will be responsible for all aspects of systems engineering functions within the Avionics Product Unit. This unit develops safety-critical avionics equipment for both military and civil platforms. You will lead managers that are responsible for the systems development and verification engineers, define the department's strategic direction, and ensure the successful development of high-tech, safety-critical products.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Lead and develop a new Systems Engineering organization, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
• Define and implement processes, methods, and tools for the Systems Engineering area, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and company standards.
• Oversee all aspects of systems engineering activities, from requirements analysis and design to verification and validation.
• Manage the department's budget and resources effectively.
• Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

The Systems Engineering department consist of five sections and approximately 65 people, making this a significant leadership role within the Engineering organization of PU Avionics. You will be a part of a growing, innovative company where your ideas truly matter. Together, we take on exciting, meaningful projects that drive the future of technology.

Your profile

We're looking for someone who is confident in themselves, their leadership, and the decisions they make. You're someone who can engage in meaningful discussions and clearly communicate the reasoning behind chosen strategies, while also being open to dialogue and collaboration. You have the ability to inspire trust and build alignment around shared goals.

You bring excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills to the table. You're skilled at setting clear goals, creating strategic plans, and following through with thoughtful execution. With a decisive and action-oriented mindset, you've demonstrated sound judgment and the ability to move things forward-even when the path isn't obvious.

To succeed in this role, you have:

• Proven experience (5+ years) in systems engineering leadership roles, ideally within the aerospace or safety-critical systems industry.
• Strong understanding of systems engineering methodologies, safety-critical system development, and requirement-based development.
• Strong proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken form.
• This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
